CEWA Talent Identification Program

The program is being reviewed in Term One 2020. The program will recommence in Term Two 2020.

The CEWA Talent Identification Program is open to all teaching and non-teaching staff as well as people employed in formal leadership roles.

The program is open to all staff across the State. This program intake will comprise 70 participants from schools located in the Archdiocese of Perth, located in suburbs or towns commencing with letters A though K and staff from the CEOWA Perth. This cohort will be selected on a ‘first come, first served’ basis.

Candidates for the program are staff who:

  • are committed to the vision and values of their schools and CEWA
  • display a growth mindset and are innovative with regard to their practices
  • are relational and trustworthy
  • are motivated to achieve in the context of their roles and are known for their ability to deliver high-quality outcomes.

The program has a dual purpose: to provide all candidates with detailed, objective feedback regarding their leadership strengths and areas for improvement and to identify high-potential staff.

Please note that nominations for participation in the program must be endorsed and registered by the Principal for school-based staff./line managers for CEOWA staff.

The CEWA Talent Identification Process

The CEWA Talent Identification Program is comprised of three stages.

  • The Future Leaders 360: A 360-degree review of candidate leadership attributes. The review is comprised of a 10-minute, online survey (self, principal and up to 9 raters) followed by 3 hour face-to-face or 2-hour teleconference debrief.
  • Learning Agility Assessment: An assessment of candidate capacity to learn rapidly in one setting before applying learning in unfamiliar and challenging leadership situations. This self-assessment takes the form of a 40-minute, online survey followed by a 1-hour, online debrief.
  • Leadership Conversation: An interview with an organisational psychologist designed to assess candidate capacity to handle complex situations associated with CEWA leadership. The conversation consists of a 1.5-hour teleconference followed by a 30 minute, online debrief.

Fees and Charges

  • The Future Leaders 360: Free of charge (actual cost: $300 per candidate).
  • Learning Agility Assessment: $200 per candidate (actual cost: $480). An invoice will be sent to the Principal for payment after the candidate has been notified of their successful progression to this stage.
  • Leadership Conversation: $300 per candidate (actual cost: $1,000). An invoice will be sent to the Principal for payment after the candidate has been notified of their successful progression to this stage.
