Bargaining Representative

Dr Debra Sayce, Acting Executive Director, wrote to Angela Briant, General Secretary IEUwa, to advise that she has been appointed by the Employers to act as their bargaining representative and each of the Employers were willing to bargaining for replacement EBA’s.

Initiation of Bargaining

The Independent Education Union WA (IEUwa) wrote to the Employers* to initiate bargaining for replacement EBA’s pursuant to s42 of the Industrial Relations Act 1979 (WA). The IEUwa also indicated an intention to bargain for an EBA to cover Catholic Education Office employees. 

* The Employers refers to the 12 employers within Catholic Education Western Australia (CEWA), who each have individual teaching and non-teaching staff Enterprise Bargaining Agreements which cover the staff within their respective schools. These agreements are traditionally identical in content so that all teachers and non-teachers across CEWA have the same basic terms and conditions of employment.
